Jim Slagle delivers the all-time favorites that made Frank Sinatra a legend. Originally arranged as dance tunes, these classics from the "Capitol Years” resonate as freshly as when they were recorded half a century ago. Jim’s father Eddie Slagle, a sax man for the Ray Anthony Orchestra, can be heard on some of the instrumentals.
Jim’s Sinatra tribute, performed hundreds of times since, originated at Odette’s in New Hope in 2000. “Bing Crosby & the Andrew’s Sisters Holiday Broadcast” followed in 2002, also at Odette’s.
Born in Ohio to a family of musicians, Jim trained at University of Cincinnati, and more recently with singing teacher Robert Edwin. He has recorded radio jingles and appeared with numerous professional and community theater troupes. Jim had the honor of performing for Princess Grace in Monaco at the World Amateur Theater Festival. “I used to think of Sinatra as music for grown-ups, but I guess I grew up." A resident of Rydal, PA, Jim is a business development manager by day.
This performance is dedicated to the memory of his mother, Lois Slagle, forever young at heart.
